For any church to thrive churches in this century, they must have a website operating as an invaluable tool for providing information and services to their congregations.
Barn Church has multiple highly active ministries, each with a unique schedule of events. This is vital information for congregants, an opportunity to The events calendar is integrated throughout the site, configured to display events only relevant to that specific page.
It uses RSS feeds, allowing the site to automatically update Google Calendar, iOS Calendar, Outlook and many other applications. The calendar has RSVP and ticket selling capabilities, which become the primary gateway for event management and often for fundraising. Â
In the 21st century, paper checks have all but disappeared, and the site offers people the ability to tithe and to submit special offerings and gifts, even dedicating said gifts in the names of loved ones, using credit or debit cards. The site allows them to set a recurring donation, and can produce downloadable PDFs of annual giving for tax deduction purposes. The senior pastor estimates that this functionality has increased tithing to the church by 30 percent.
Barn Church was the first of my clients to sign on to my Kinnect Service. The church does not have dedicated IT staff. With a low monthly fee, I maintain and update all aspects of the site, including hosting and domain registration.
I built with the WordPress platform, the digital heart of the sight that allows it to offer these features. A highly expandable content management system, WordPress powers 44% of the internet. Kinnect has allowed Barn Church to have a website that competes and often exceeds churches who have dedicated web staff.Â
The site has become a vital hub for the church and its members.
